Carol Bovill

Director, WBTECC

Carol Bovill has been the Director of Wilshire Boulevard Temple's Early Childhood Centers since 2002. A leading professional in the field of Jewish Early Childhood Education since 1980, Carol holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree (also in Early Childhood Education), both from California State University, Northridge. She is a past president of the Early Childhood Directors’ Network of the Builders of Jewish Education (BJE).

Prior to her Wilshire Boulevard Temple tenure, as Assistant Executive Director at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Los Angeles, Carol developed curriculum, hired administrators, and oversaw the early childhood programs at seven local JCCs. Before becoming the founding director of the Conejo Valley JCC for Early Childhood and Family Education, Carol was the assistant director at Valley Beth Shalom preschool. Early in her career, as a nursery school teacher, she also facilitated parenting classes.

Carol and her husband of 40 years, Dan, live in Century City and enjoy power walking, traveling, reading, and entertaining friends and family. Their children, Melissa and Jeremy live in Los Angeles. Carol is the proud grandma of Aiden, Zachary and Blake who are currently enrolled at our very own Early Childhood Centers and Brawerman Elementary.

Floryn Rosenberg

Associate Director, WBTECC

Floryn Rosenberg is the Site Director at the Erika J. Glazer Early Childhood Center. She was previously the Assistant Director at the Mann Family Early Childhood Center in 2015. She has been a part of the teaching staff at Wilshire Boulevard Temple for the past five years, and has been in the Early Childhood field for seven years. Floryn holds a Bachelor's Degree in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master's Degree in Media and Communications Psychology from Touro University. During her free time, Floryn enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Daniel, and her two sons, Jacob and Benjamin. 

Stefanie Hagen

Assistant Director, Erika J. Glazer Early Childhood Center

Stefanie has been Assistant Site Director at the Erika J. Glazer Early Childhood Center since Fall of 2018. Stefanie began her career in early childhood education at the Mann Family Early Childhood Center, where she taught for six years, before moving to the Bay Area, where she continued her teaching carrier for another four years. Stefanie is excited to be back in her hometown and a part of the WBTECC Administrative Team. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking and spending times with friends and family, especially with her beloved golden retriever, Levi.

Taylor Wolf

Assistant Director, Resnick Family Campus Early Childhood Center

Taylor Wolf has been a part of the Wilshire community for the past two years. In 2020, she started her new role as the Assistant Director of the Mann Family Early Childhood Center and in 2021 moved to the Resnick Family Campus. Taylor received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Jewish Studies from Tulane University. She is currently working towards receiving her Masters in Early Childhood Education from American Jewish University. Taylor previously taught Elementary School in both Louisiana and Missouri. She began her career in Early Childhood Education four years ago when she moved back to Los Angeles and has loved every minute! In her free time, Taylor enjoys hiking, going to the beach, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Felisa Felsenthal

Registrar

Felisa has been a part of the Early Childhood Centers since November of 2005. She is a certified paralegal and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UCLA. Felisa has three children, Michael, Deena and Amira and one son-in-law Jonathan. Felisa is active in the Jewish community and enjoys spending time with her family.

Laurie Brown

Operations Manager, Mann Family Early Childhood Center

Laurie has been the Operations Manager of Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s Mann Family Early Childhood Center since early 2015.  She has an extensive background in technology; working in web design, video editing and computer animation. Laurie is currently pursuing her Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Laurie has previously instructed young children in T-ball and basketball as an after-school enrichment. As a native of Northwest Indiana, Laurie is a diehard Chicago Sports Fan.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and playing recreational and tournament level softball with her husband Ward.


FACULTY

All of our highly qualified teachers at the Early Childhood Center have bachelor’s degrees, with many of them earning master’s degrees in Early Childhood Development and Education. Our creative and committed staff is trained in cutting-edge curricula and teaching techniques, and participate in continuing education programs including workshops conducted by the Director, and monthly "Lunch & Learn" sessions with our rabbis. Teachers and Administrative Staff also receive annual basic first aid, CPR training, and certification.
