Carol Bovill has been the Director of Wilshire Boulevard Temple's Early Childhood Centers since 2002. A leading professional in the field of Jewish Early Childhood Education since 1980, Carol holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree (also in Early Childhood Education), both from California State University, Northridge. She is a past president of the Early Childhood Directors’ Network of the Builders of Jewish Education (BJE).
Prior to her Wilshire Boulevard Temple tenure, as Assistant Executive Director at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Los Angeles, Carol developed curriculum, hired administrators, and oversaw the early childhood programs at seven local JCCs. Before becoming the founding director of the Conejo Valley JCC for Early Childhood and Family Education, Carol was the assistant director at Valley Beth Shalom preschool. Early in her career, as a nursery school teacher, she also facilitated parenting classes.
Carol and her husband of 40 years, Dan, live in Century City and enjoy power walking, traveling, reading, and entertaining friends and family. Their children, Melissa and Jeremy live in Los Angeles. Carol is the proud grandma of Aiden, Zachary and Blake who are currently enrolled at our very own Early Childhood Centers and Brawerman Elementary.
