A Whole Child Approach

At Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s Early Childhood Centers, we believe the earliest years shape a lifetime. That’s why our program is designed to nurture the whole child, mind, body, heart, and spirit, within a warm and joyful Jewish community. Our accredited curriculum, rooted in best practices and inspired by the Reggio Emilia co-constructed approach, empowers children to discover the world with wonder while growing into confident, compassionate learners.

Learning Through Play and Discovery

Children learn best through play, exploration, and discovery. At the ECCs, everyday moments become opportunities for growth, whether painting at the easel, planting seeds in the garden, or building towers with friends. Play is never “just play”: it’s the foundation for curiosity, problem-solving, creativity, and resilience. By following their own interests and imaginations, children develop the skills that will carry them through school and life.

Rooted in Child Development & Jewish Values

Our program, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), reflects the highest standards in early childhood education.

Teachers act as guides and collaborators, tailoring learning to each child’s pace while introducing hands-on experiences in language, math, science, art, music, movement, gardening, and cooking.

Living Our Values

Jewish tradition is seamlessly woven into daily life: celebrating Shabbat each week, exploring holidays with joy, and living out values like tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (charity). Children learn not only about Jewish heritage but also how to embody kindness, respect, and gratitude in everyday actions.

Our Approach to Nurturing Potential

We see every child as a capable, unique individual. Low student-to-teacher ratios allow for meaningful attention, gentle guidance, and authentic relationships. In our relationship-based model, teachers partner closely with families, ensuring school feels like an extension of home and that every child feels safe, loved, and valued.

Here, children don’t just prepare for elementary school, they grow into curious thinkers, caring friends, and confident members of a community rooted in Jewish values.
