Growing Into Independence

At this stage, children are brimming with curiosity, energy, and big ideas. Our Pre-K, Transitional Kindergarten (TK), and Developmental Kindergarten (DK) programs give them the perfect space to stretch into independence while still feeling held in the warmth of our ECC community.

Preparing for Elementary School

This is the bridge year between early childhood and elementary. Children practice the essential skills that set them up for kindergarten and beyond: listening and expressing themselves, working in groups, solving problems, and beginning to read, write, and explore math concepts. Every lesson is hands-on and meaningful, woven into projects that connect with art, science, and nature.

Learning Through Joy and Discovery

Our curriculum makes academics feel alive.

Children explore counting, patterns, storytelling, and music in ways that honor their ideas—building foundational skills through joyful, Reggio-inspired learning.

Growing as Leaders

As the oldest students in our ECCs, Pre-K, TK, and DK children are looked up to by their younger peers. Teachers nurture this natural leadership, guiding children to take responsibility, collaborate on projects, and support their classmates. This builds independence, empathy, and confidence, qualities that will carry into kindergarten and beyond.

Rooted in Jewish Values

Jewish life and values are woven seamlessly into this year of growth. Children light Shabbat candles together each week, celebrate holidays with songs and hands-on traditions, and practice kindness through acts of tzedakah. These experiences connect learning to heritage and give children a strong sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves.

Partnership with Families

Parents are essential partners in this journey. Teachers provide regular updates and personalized guidance, making sure each child is fully supported through the transition to elementary school. Families also take part in milestones and celebrations, creating memories that strengthen both home and school connections.

A Seamless Transition

Whether moving into Brawerman Elementary or another leading program, children leave our ECCs ready to thrive. Small class sizes, individualized attention, and our strong relationships with elementary schools ensure that the transition is not just smooth, but it’s exciting as well.
