A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life

Children in our Nursery School begin their days with morning meetings in which they discuss and reflect upon the day before, and share updates of their lives. They then disperse to their respective learning centers—math, science, reading or pre-reading, dramatic play, library, snack, art, or block area.

This is followed by group time and play outdoors, in which children develop their small and gross motor skills—climbing, running, playing in the sandbox, or mud pit. After lunch (in which students take advantage of our hot lunch program), children continue working on the morning’s learning center projects.

Weekly, students attend classes and programs with our specialist teachers, such as gardening, or music and art with our atelieristas. Different days of the week they will play soccer, do yoga, or build a city with blocks and building tools. Additionally, every Friday, students make challah for Shabbat and take one home for their families at the end of the day.

Students have the option of enrolling in our enrichment programs in the afternoon, participating in programs such as Little Scientists, Goofy Gill, Soccer, Cooking, Spanish, and many more.
