All Our Committees Made Possible

All Our Committees Made Possible

In our Early Childhood Centers, the Parent Association plays an important and active role in our programs. Its goal is to work in partnership with teachers and school administrators to enrich school programs and enhance the feeling of community in our schools. Our PA presidents, Dianna Mannheim Sternberg (Mann) and Deena Fleiner (Glazer), oversee more than 40 committees between the two campuses. All of our dedicated parent volunteers give their time and energy to help plan numerous events throughout the school year, including the Sukkot Family Picnic in the fall, Class Socials, Book Fair, Sample Sale, and Holiday Boutique. Other committees plan events in the spring, such as our Purim Carnival and Matzah Factory. The hospitality committee coordinates food and setup for Parent Association meetings, Lunch and Learns, Coffee with Carol, and Prospective Family Tours. The New Families committee plans New Family Orientation Night, New Student Playdate, and Back to School Night and works during the summer pairing each incoming family with a “host family,” who initiates a playdate before the school year begins. Our Room Representatives volunteer all year long, as they are the center of communication between the school and the parents for each class. They also coordinate Mitzvah Meals for families with life-cycle events. An incredible group of parents leads our fundraising events, the Gala and Party Book, among them. And the Gala committee plans and executes all aspects of the event, including coordinating the auction, sponsorships, raffles, and class auction art.

This year, Nahal Danesh and Amanda Bernshteyn, Mann parents, have formed a gardening committee at Mann Family Early Childhood Center, for which parents are volunteering to plant, harvest, and tend to our nursery school gardens alongside their children. Using her expertise as a nutritionist, Danesh has also volunteered to oversee our snack and lunch menu for both sites, making sure all of the children are eating nutritious meals throughout their school day. Katerina Demidova, a Glazer parent, has graciously taken on helming the redesign of the ECC library at Glazer.

We are so grateful for our extraordinary parent body, which dedicates their time and energy to provide a wide array of exciting opportunities, events, and avenues for our school while fostering existing and new friendships to last a lifetime.
